November 7th, 2007 Update

On the left we have an adorable
Vintage Reversible Apron with daisy print cotton and
sheer nylon. This is a "must see" apron! The
colorful magazine in the middle is a
Saturday Evening Post from 1941. The cover has
several insignias from WWII Army Air Force and Navy
squadrons. On the right is a very nice
Vintage Redwork Embroidered Tablecloth - true turkey
red embroidery and in fine condition.

On the left is a vivid
cotton print table cloth in blue floral. With
so many of these old print tablecloths going to the
chopping block (literally!), it's always a treat to come
across those which are intact and in very good
condition. In the middle is an old
McCall's Magazine from 1920. You won't find
many of these issues around, and the artwork,
advertising and the content is second to none -
essential period paper! On the right are
vintage doe, fawn and birds embroidery transfers.
We have a very good stock of vintage transfers, so if
you haven't stopped in for a while, do have a look!

On the left is
Vintage Collier's Magazine from 1916. This
particular issue has artwork by N.C. Wyeth and
literature by H.G. Wells. Next is another vintage
apron - this one being a Fancy Ruffled Pinafore Apron for girls. The
Christmas bells, ribbon and holly postcard you see
is signed Ellen Clapsaddle and made in Germany. 'Tis
the season! Last we have an Art Deco Embroidered & Crocheted Vanity Scarf Set -
lovely period fancywork!

September 23rd, 2007 Update
It's been a month and a half since we've posted
highlights from the last update, so this one is rather
large. To start off, we have an absolutely
adorable
Vintage Bonnet Belle & Parasol Apron. They
don't get much cuter than this! That's just one of
several vintage aprons added recently, so be sure to
check out the entire department. Next is great
pattern from the 1940's - a
Day Dress & Feminine Peplum Jacket. Classic
40's lines! Click on the picture to see our entire
stock of 1940's patterns. On the right, we have a
fabulous example of vintage fabric - a
Bright Floral on Blue fabric, which is found in our
quilting prints department.
To start off the second row, we have another fine
vintage sewing pattern. This is a
1950's Slim Princess-Seamed Lined Suit, and has
fabulous form! Next is a small sample of the many
cards and lots of vintage buttons added recently.
These are
Vintage Blue Swirl Buttons measuring 7/8" and have
somewhat of a pinwheel design.. Then we have a
charming
Fancy Antique Bib Apron with Lace Trim. Wait
'til you see the close up of the print! Last on
this row are great "Days of the Week"
vintage transfers with Dottie the Duck. For
those who prefer to do their own "fancywork", we have
scores of embroidery transfers - just click on the
picture above to view the entire department.

This row starts off with a great
1950's needlework book titled Edgings, featuring
crochet, tatting and hairpin lace. This is just
one of many books found in our needlework and craft
patterns department. Quintessential to the
fancywork-lover's kitchen are crocheted hot pads and
potholders, and in the middle is just one of several
crocheted cotton hot pads recently added. This is
a cheerful
crocheted hot pad with cream, pink and green,
complete with a Bakelite hanging ring. To round
off the textiles and sewing update we have a lovely
1930's Floor-Length Dress or Nightgown in 3 Styles
Sewing Pattern - simply charming!
To start off with our highlights for the vintage paper &
ephemera update we have one heck of a find! On the
top left is
a
1910 National Cloak & Suit Catalog with the entire
mailing contents, including the coupons. This was
found complete with the mailing envelope and was not
only intact, but in excellent condition. Some
wonderful fashion illustrations are found inside!
This item can be found in our Advertising department.
In the middle is a classic
Saturday Evening Post issue from 1941. This
magazine features a cover that is priceless - a store
clerk overwhelmed by returns after the holidays!
We have an entire category dedicated to Saturday Evening
Post Magazine - click on the picture to have a look.
On the right is a scarce copy of the
Elks Carnival March - sheet music from 1907 and is
truly a rare find. All of our sheet music is
arranged by decade, which makes for fun browsing!

You won't find more vivid graphics than on this
1919 sheet music titled "I'm Not Jealous (But I Just
Don't Like It)". One of numerous titles added
to our sheet music categories lately. In the
middle is a rare find and an interesting piece for the
antique tractor buff. This is a
Circa 1930 Huber Tractor advertising book, fully
illustrated. To cap off our update we have a
cute children's book from
1943 - Picture Sounding Rhymes. Fabulous color and
illustrations throughout!

1948 WIBW Roundup with Hopalong Cassidy on the
cover. On the right is one of the great patterns
