National Geographic - February 1918 - Valley of Ten Thousand Smokes - Oil - WWI (B)
National Geographic - February 1918 - Valley of Ten Thousand Smokes - Oil - WWI (B)
National Geographic Magazine from 1918, nearly complete and in good condition, showing some wear and soil (described below). One page removed from this issue: 193-194. This particular issue includes a great panoramic photo supplement of The Valley of Ten Thousand Smokes, taken by Robert F. Griggs. Measures about 7" X 10". Scroll down to view hi-resolution photo of the supplemental photograph.

What's Inside:
The Valley of Ten Thousand Smokes: National Geographic Society Explorations in the Katmai District of Alaska by Robert F. Griggs
Helping to Solve Our Allies' Food Problem by Ralph Graves
Billions of Barrels of Oil Locked Up in Rocks by Guy Elliott Mitchell
Shopping Abroad for Our Army in France by Herbert Corey
... and of course the fantastic ads of the period!

Condition:
Edge/Corner Wear: mild to moderate, considerable wear to upper left corner
Surface Wear: mild to moderate
Soiling: mild to moderate
Spine Separations: cover has completely separated from the binding glue, but is intact; binding staples corroded
Spine Cover Wear*: shown in close-ups
Tearing: tears shown in photos; surface tears (in this case, dime-sized holes) to some advertising pages; minor tearing elsewhere
Inner Pages: very good to excellent (excepting a few of the advertising pages with tears)
Other: slight musty odor; supplement is in good condition, but exhibits some "wear through" along the center fold;

*-spine cover wear basically describes the condition of the spine cover only, and does not describe the binding, which is in very good condition unless otherwise noted.
