The one and only greeting you wont find here are Valentine cards. Greeting cards came in all shapes and sizes. From fancy, embossed, multi-layered cards, to simple, single-leaf cards with a quaint message regarding the particular subject or holiday. Animals, mainly dogs and cats, and flowers were by far the most popular motif to adorn these little charmers. However, holiday-specific characters and decorations graced the fronts of many a greeting card as well. Santa and biblical characters on Christmas; Kids, bunnies and ducklings on Easter; and comical characters of all kinds on birthday cards. The artwork and style of these old cards has been long since lost in today's mass produced shopping aisles.
