Vintage Fabric

Fabulous Vintage Fabric

Vintage fabric of many kinds can be found in our web store, from the lightest sheers to heavy brocades. The vast majority are 100% cottons, but we do stock some rayon, linen and blends too. Occasionally we come across a wild print we can't resist, like the nylon and acetate prints of the 1960's, but we do not include polyesters. No reproductions of any kind, all original vintage fabrics ranging in age from the late 1800s through the 1960s.

Vintage Apron Designs by Steph

You will find a category in our vintage aprons department:  Apron Designs byVintage Apron Design by Steph Steph .  These are newly made aprons,  but are made from vintage fabric, bindings and trims.  Vintage fabric from yardage, feed sacks and scraps will all play a part in the creation of these masterpieces.
Steph has taken a temporary break from making her aprons "from scratch", but if you have any questions about any aprons at De Witt & Co., be sure and drop us a line.

Got Pulp?

Vintage MagazinesHere at DeWitt & Co., we stock a wide variety of vintage magazines, pulp fiction and other publications.

With just some exceptions, the vast majority of vintage paper stocked is pre-1960, with many much, much earlier.

Wild West Weekly is just one of the many vintage magazines you will find here!

Feed Sacks Abound!

Vintage Feed Sacks

Quilters, restorers, crafters or just collectors, we've got a good supply of vintage feed sacks, and we're continually on the lookout for more!

Feed sacks are getting harder and harder to find, and although reproduction prints can be found, original feed sacks are in limited supply...when they're gone, they're gone!

Cupid's Arrow

Vintage Valentines

Vintage valentines are another one of our favorites!  Stand-up valentines, German valentines and valentine postcards all can be found.

There's much more charm with vintage valentines...they are true works of art and a wonderful part of ephemera history.

Sew many Patterns & Transfers!

Vintage Sewing PatternsVintage sewing patterns galore!  Scores of patterns, most dating from the 1930's through the 1970's but occasionally some much older.  Men's, women's and children's patterns from a variety of designers can be found in our sewing patterns department.

Embroiderers and crafters will want to check out our vintage transfers department, also.  We've got a plethora of transfers and craft patterns, too!

Vintage Fabric
We stock vintage fabric for quilters and crafters, as well as upholstery, drapery and decorator fabrics.   From simple prints to elaborate brocades, we have a wide variety in stock and are adding new inventory frequently.  We have both by-the-yard fabrics and pre-cut pieces... Anywhere from quilter's fat quarters to several yards a piece.

Vintage Feed Sacks
Feed sacks are the staple of vintage quilts and used to be the backbone of every farm wife's sewing cabinet.  Clothing, towels, tablecloths and many other practical tasks were handled with feed sacks.  Although most of our feed sacks are full, with some even unopened, some feed sack pieces can be found here, as well.

Vintage Magazines
Vintage magazines are wonderful pieces of history.  One can learn so many things about an era just by picking up an old magazine and leafing through it.  Current events, politics, fashion, and lifestyles all took part in publishing these works.  Start reading them, and you'll be hooked!

Vintage Road Maps
Vintage road maps contained most of the information that the early automobile traveler needed to venture into the frontier of paved highways.  Many had lodging information and radio station frequencies, while others had important local events, tourist information, and even weather trends.

Vintage Sewing Patterns
Did you miss the stunning dress designs of the 1930s and 1940s the first time around? Well, they are back in a slew of vintage patterns right here, in our vintage sewing patterns department.  Women's patterns are conveniently arranged by decade, while children's patterns are arranged by "era" or period.  Men's patterns are in a single department for now, but may be expanded later.

Vintage Aprons
The apron... armor for your wardrobe... has been around for a long time, and has been made with just about every type of fabric, print, design, and trim.  Whether from brand new fabric or leftover scraps, they are a charming addition to any wardrobe.
